Swap Meet Dealer Information
The Cowboy Trade Day™ was started in 1995 and now draws from 150 to 160 dealers, and approximately 3,000 shoppers for the day. (Because this is an outdoor event, these numbers will vary according to weather conditions.)
NOTICE! It has been brought to my attention that at recent shows there have been 3-4 dealers displaying and/or selling merchandise which had absolutely 'nothing' to do with the 'theme' of The Cowboy Trade Day™.
Just in case you are not aware, or have forgotten (or are stone cold guilty of attempting to ignore our rules), let me clear things up for you. As a dealer, you are NEVER to put on display or attempt to sell any merchandise that does not fit our cowboy-western-Indian theme. If you are confused about this rule, please go back and read every word on our web site in regards to 'dealer information.' After reading all of this information, if you still have questions, feel free to contact us.
BOTTOM LINE? We are dead serious about this! We want to maintain the theme. Any dealer breaking this rule will be asked to put offending items back in their vehicle and out of sight. In some cases, a dealer might be asked to load it all back up, 'lock, stock & barrel,' and leave the property. Come on folks ... let's keep it WESTERN!
Vendors NOTICE: Since 2010, The Cowboy Trade Days have been held in September, the ENTIRE third weekend! It will cost a little bite more, $80.00 per space, but this is still cheaper than other two day events. You must be set up and ready to do business no later than 8:30 A.M. Saturday morning. Don't forget about those early shoppers that always show up on Friday. You must be prepared to stay through Sunday afternoon. So, come expecting a crowd! Load up and get there early as Thursday noon to claim and mark off your space/spaces. But please, do not show up any earlier than Wednesday at 4:00 pm to stake a claim, we won't be ready. If you come earlier than Wednesday and stake your claim, your claim will be invalid and removed. So to save a feud, just hold your horse until the Wednesday before The Cowboy Trade Day after 4pm.
The size of each dealer set up space will be 15 feet X 40 feet maximum ... maybe a little more ? maybe a little less.
All dealer spaces are outside. There are no inside spaces available.
Water hookups are not available at your space.
Electrical hookups are available to vendors at NO extra cost. But these hookups are limited, so it's first come, first served!
No yard sale or flea market junk allowed. Like ? baby shoes, wet clothes, broken dishes, etc.
No standard 'craft show' items allowed either. Like ? ceramic ducks (unless they are wearing spurs and sportin? a ten gallon hat?), silk flowers, refrigerator magnets etc, etc. Think Cowboy, Western, "Old West," Native American! Any dealer breaking this rule will be asked to get it out of sight or, load it up and go home! (No refund)
No cars, bicycles, tread mills, doghouses, go carts, hog feeders, lawn mowers, etc. allowed. You get the idea - think Cowboy, Western, Indian!
All rolling stock? wagons, trucks, buggies, horse trailers etc, that are being offered for sale must be put on display at your dealer space with a 'For Sale' sign on the vehicle.
NOTICE! Individual Gun sales/trade MUST come through the front gate. No one may carry a gun for sale or trade, that is not already part of a vendor set-up, around without being cleared at the front gate.
NOTICE: Animals: We will no longer be allowing horses or mules on the property. No exotic animals, birds, fowl, or farm critters of any kind are allowed. Leave your snakes and lizards at home too! It is not advisable to bring your large dog on a leash to The Cowboy Trade Day™. A hand held Poodle now and then won't hurt but, for certain ... don't bring any coonhounds, lion dogs, pit bulls, mastiffs, or rottweilers. This ain't no dog show! Cow dogs and other stock dog breeds that are being offered for sale are welcome, but, please, keep 'em in cages. If your dog/s do bite or even scratch some person, you, the dog owner / caretaker must assume all responsibility. The Cowboy Trade Day™ will not be held responsible for the actions of you or your dog / dogs or those that are under your care.
Just drive in, locate the space/s that you like and set up your display or rope / mark off that space. The shopper walk ways will be marked with orange traffic cones. Each dealer space will be marked with white lines painted on the ground. After you have set up, we will come around on Saturday and collect the $80.00 per space set up fee at about 8:30am - 1:30pm and mark that space as "PAID".
NOTICE: As a dealer, you will not sign up in advance or make a reservation. It?s first come, first served! The early bird claims the best spot. Advance space set-up or claim staking will only be permitted beginning the Wednesday before The Cowboy Trade Day after 4pm. After that time you will be able to rope off or mark your space and then come back early Saturday morning to set up your display. Roping off or marking your space does not mean that you have ?reserved? your space. Please, let it be understood ... The Cowboy Trade Day™ management and or our employees will not be guarding your space. The best that you can hope for is that your fellow dealers will honor the fact that you have roped off / marked or claimed your space in advance.
NOTE: If you have roped off/ claimed your space but are not set up and ready to do business by 8:00am Saturday morning, your spot is subject to be rented to another dealer. DON'T be late!
"No Trespassing" - Avoid range wars ? please keep your stuff within your allotted space.
NOTICE: No motorized vehicle of any kind other than those driven by or escorted by the management or employees of The Cowboy Trade Day™ will be allowed in the dealer / vendor area of The Cowboy Trade Day™ between the hours of 8:30 a.m. & 4:00 p.m. during The Cowboy Trade Day™. This rule does not apply to small battery powered vehicles that are ?designed? for and driven by our handicapped friends.
NOTICE: Because of the annoying racket that they make, portable generators, welders, air compressors, etc., are not to be running at your dealer space. Day or night!
By Oklahoma state law, The Cowboy Trade Day™ has purchased a permit that allows us to put on this event. The sales tax rate, as set by the State of Oklahoma, will be provided each year on the tax form that is given to each vendor.
